Sweet Summer Days....

Sometimes, the Summer Day comes together so nicely you just have to get your camera and snap a few pics to remember the moments that make life so special....

Summer Means.....Corn on the Cob!!

"Ever tried BBQ Sauce???"

These pictures say it all...Summer means Corn-on-the-Cob. It's the only veggie that all 5 of my children eat and love universally. Yum!

Homemade Pizza--Yummm

We have family cooking night on Friday Nights. Tonight's menu: Homemade Pizza. The little ones put on their aprons and got their hands all dirty with cheese, pepperoni and pizza dough. Aimee and Liam had as much fun eating the ingredients as they did making the pizza, but Reilly was taking his job seriously and completed one whole pizza himself :-) Once dinner is cooked, we usually have a "Picnic" on the family room floor, complete with big picnic blanket! We watch a movie together while we have our picnic.

Good Morning!!

This is such a cute picture of little Liam...especially because this represents how he wakes up EVERY morning....Mr. Smiles!

Mimosa!

On May 27th we picked-up our sweet little kitten who was all of 8 weeks old. Her name is Mimosa, and the kids call here Mimo for short. She's super playful, and destined to be an awesome 'Mouse Hunter." Right now, she's too little to hunt mice, but, she's hunting all sorts of kids toys and has already found several missing 'treasures' that the kids have lost behind the couch and under their beds. :-)

The Glover Gang's Garden~ 2010

This year, I was determined to plant a garden....no matter where we were! The new house has a perfect garden plot, already framed and full of weeds--I mean dirt :-) The kids and I grew most of our veggies from seeds, and it was such an amazing experience to see them take care of the little seeds! They woke up every morning and checked each tiny pot for new growth...and carefully told me when they needed water and sunlight.

In the beginning, it was all *WEEDING*--because the garden had been neglected. But it's shaping up nicely.

So far, I've planted 7 types of Heirloom Tomatos (GMO Free, of course!) including some yellow and orange pear tomatos---yummo! Watermelon, Burp-less English Cucumber, 4 types of squash, 3 types of pumpkins for the kids, Okra, Peppers, Sunflowers, Marigolds and Alyssum.

Pinewood Derby~2010

Pinewood Derby~2010

This year both Hunter and Reilly got to enter the Pinewood Derby--for Reilly it was his first, for Hunter, his last time. Everyone missed Daddy at this event--Mommy can make the cars look good, but Daddy's know all the secrets to getting them to go 'FAST.' There were over 50 entrants in the Derby--and the boys had a great time!!

Reilly's Big Day!

This year was doubly special for Reilly--he turned 8 and got to join Cub Scouts. Reilly has been waiting to become a Boy Scout for 2.5 years...which is how long his brother Hunter has been a Scout. So when Reilly found out that the Cub Scout Pinewood Derby was on 2/25/2010, his birthday, he was super-excited. Not every 8 year old gets the entire auditorium of Scouts and parents to sing 'Happy Birthday' to you right before the Derby begins--LOL!

Mommy, I was only helping....

Well, I am finally recovered enough to post a few pictures about little Aimee's unintended haircut...
Last month, Aidan took it upon himself to 'trim' everyone's hair while I was moving some things in the garage. My first clue was coming in the house and seeing a curly lock of hair on the kitchen floor. Ever the optimist, I didn't think much of it and found myself walking to the garbage to throw the mystery hair away. Upon opening the garbage, to my horror, I found an entire mass of curly locks already there!! The horror!! I found Aimee and tears sprang from my eyes as I took in the sight before me. I seems Aidan felt it necessary to cut Aimee's hair and his own. He attempted to cut little Liam's hair, but I am told that Liam ran shrieking from the kitchen.

So, Aimee got her first haircut at the salon--a very short 'Pixie Cut'. Fortunately Aidan left enough hair in some spots that I can comb it over and cover the bald places where he cut it to the scalp...sigh....
