Something Special about Pleasant Grove!

Thinking about St. Patrick's Day reminds me of "GOOD LUCK." And we are VERY LUCKY to live here in Pleasant Grove, Utah!! Besides being a fantastic little town, with people full of heart and giving....we are blessed to live in a wonderful neighborhood. Just the other day, I walked outside to check on my almost 7 year-old, Reilly. He was going for a ride on Oreo, the neighbors horse--how cool is that. It was the highlight of his day and mine :-) I often see our sweet neighbors taking the boys on a ride in their quad-runners or letting them pet their horses. How lucky is that???

~My lesson from all this is that you can live anywhere, in almost any situation, and find an abundance of friends and blessings, if you just look around you with an open heart.

Sledding at Daniels Summit

Our latest family adventure took us on a sledding trip to Daniels Summit, near Heber City, Utah. We left the rain in Pleasant Grove and traveled up Provo Canyon to find light snow in Heber City. After enjoying some good 'old-fashioned' junk food at the Dairy Keen, a( sentimental) favorite, we drove to the 8000+ foot peak at Daniels Summit. The boys (including Daddy) enjoyed some sledding and Aimee, Liam and mommy hung out and watched. Aidan won the award for the most "crazy sled run"--not on purpose--as he flew down the hill, hit a pile of snow and went airborne...eventually landing on his face. After a couple of tense moments, it was clear he was fine and survived the trip--though he could be heard saying "I'm going to the car to see Mommy" after the wild ride :-0 (hint: click on the pictures to see the bigger version, where you can see more detail)

Halloween 2008 with the Glover Gang!!

Well, Halloween has come and gone already and we're within striking distance of Thanksgiving...Where does the time go? Little Aidan is still wearing his costume and asking if we can go "Treat or Treating Tonight?"

This year, the boys decided to wear their costumes to school, so Hunter went as a PIRATE and REILLY went as a PTERADACTYL. Later in the evening, Reilly changed his costume choice and went to the Trunk-or-Treat as a dinosaur--so Reilly and Aidan matched!! Too cute :-) Aimee was a little LADYBUG this year, and her red and black tutu was so sweet. I couldn't help but smile as she danced and said "wook at me" with glee! And last but not least, sweet little Liam was a PUMPKIN. He had to be the cutest pumpkin in the patch and we all loved seeing him smile with his little costume on.

Introducing the NEWEST member of the Glover Gang~ Ryker

As you can see, he was just too CUTE and SWEET to leave at the Animal Shelter!!

So, on 9/24/08, our family grew by 4 FEET as Ryker came home with us. He's a super-sweet and mellow German Shepherd puppy mix--with some other (calm) type of dog in him. And it's true that POUND PUPPIES are the BEST dogs....He's convinved that he 'IS' one of the kids, and wants to be in my lap all the time. Ryker runs with the boyz...and even puts up with "Princess Aimee" pulling his tail and saying "No, no Cracker!" (that's how you say Ryker when you're 2 years old)

And YES, that's SNOW you see outside our house on October 12th--how cool is that!!!!!

Hunter and Aimee's Birthday Celebration!!!

This year we decided to combine birthday party celebrations for Hunter and Aimee. Since their 'special days' are only 2 days apart, September 17th and September 19th, we had DOUBLE-THE-FUN at a surprise "Bowling Birthday." We went to Jack & Jill Lanes in American Fork--and had yummy burgers (classic birthday junk food ;-) and milkshakes followed by the long-awaited 'present opening ceremony.' Hunter got lots of games (Risk, Life, HeroScape) and a microscope that attaches to the TV for viewing up-close investigations of bugs, rocks, dirt, etc...Part MythBusters, part Discovery Channel!!
Aimee Madeleine got a new Care Bear (her MOST FAV THING), her 1st real doll and a DVD and tub toy of the Little Mermaid (her second FAV THING!.)

Then it was on to bowling--which none of us are good at! The kids LOVED the whole thing, from getting special bowling shoes to picking their balls. Reilly was SO EXCITED, he ran into someone else's lane, took a ball and tried to play!! In the end, it was a tie with Reilly and Hunter fighting for top place. Mommy came in 'dead last'--but Aimee came in 3rd place (bowled by Mommy--go figure????.)
