The 2009 Spring Pinewood Derby

Princess Aimee and her "Pink!"

Well, it turns out that there's a REAL REASON the 'Doctor says...NO MORE MONKEY's JUMPIN ON THE BED!!!" Little Aimee Madeleine was jumping on Reilly's bed (the bottom bunk) with her brothers and slipped off the end of the bed and caught her left leg between the mattress and the foot-board. After many tears and 24 hours of "concerned" mommy observance, I took her to get an x-ray and found out she broke her tibia at the very top, under her knee. This is her 2nd WEEK with her 'PINK'...and I thinks she adapting nicely. I no longer have to carry her--she walks with her 'PINK' even runs when she gets the chance....I'm sure sad she broke her little leg, but DARN that little PINK cast is CUTE ;_)

The Pinewood Derby, Part 1

Hunter's 1st "Official Pinewood Derby" is 3/26/09...and lucky me, I get to help him with his derby car! After learning the highly technical and complicated rituals associated with the "Derby", I set out to assist my oldest son with his racing entry. Sort of a 'Scrapbook-Diva-does-derby' experience. The wood block was cut, sanded, whittled and painted. Hunter picked his own design and colors :-) We also weighed the car to the EXACT 5 ounce entrance requirement....Phew....It was delivered into the hands of the Derby Moderator last night....

Something Special about Pleasant Grove!

Thinking about St. Patrick's Day reminds me of "GOOD LUCK." And we are VERY LUCKY to live here in Pleasant Grove, Utah!! Besides being a fantastic little town, with people full of heart and giving....we are blessed to live in a wonderful neighborhood. Just the other day, I walked outside to check on my almost 7 year-old, Reilly. He was going for a ride on Oreo, the neighbors horse--how cool is that. It was the highlight of his day and mine :-) I often see our sweet neighbors taking the boys on a ride in their quad-runners or letting them pet their horses. How lucky is that???

~My lesson from all this is that you can live anywhere, in almost any situation, and find an abundance of friends and blessings, if you just look around you with an open heart.

Sledding at Daniels Summit

Our latest family adventure took us on a sledding trip to Daniels Summit, near Heber City, Utah. We left the rain in Pleasant Grove and traveled up Provo Canyon to find light snow in Heber City. After enjoying some good 'old-fashioned' junk food at the Dairy Keen, a( sentimental) favorite, we drove to the 8000+ foot peak at Daniels Summit. The boys (including Daddy) enjoyed some sledding and Aimee, Liam and mommy hung out and watched. Aidan won the award for the most "crazy sled run"--not on purpose--as he flew down the hill, hit a pile of snow and went airborne...eventually landing on his face. After a couple of tense moments, it was clear he was fine and survived the trip--though he could be heard saying "I'm going to the car to see Mommy" after the wild ride :-0 (hint: click on the pictures to see the bigger version, where you can see more detail)

Halloween 2008 with the Glover Gang!!

Well, Halloween has come and gone already and we're within striking distance of Thanksgiving...Where does the time go? Little Aidan is still wearing his costume and asking if we can go "Treat or Treating Tonight?"

This year, the boys decided to wear their costumes to school, so Hunter went as a PIRATE and REILLY went as a PTERADACTYL. Later in the evening, Reilly changed his costume choice and went to the Trunk-or-Treat as a dinosaur--so Reilly and Aidan matched!! Too cute :-) Aimee was a little LADYBUG this year, and her red and black tutu was so sweet. I couldn't help but smile as she danced and said "wook at me" with glee! And last but not least, sweet little Liam was a PUMPKIN. He had to be the cutest pumpkin in the patch and we all loved seeing him smile with his little costume on.
